Belize City, Belmopan, Orange Walk Mayors traveling to Taiwan for 2022 Smart City Summit & Expo

Belize City Mayor and President of the Belize Mayor’s Association Bernard Wagner, Belmopan Mayor Sheran Palacio, and Orange Walk Town Mayor Ladrick Sheppard are members of a Belizean delegation that left for Taiwan on Saturday morning, according to the Taiwan Embassy in Belize.

The Belize delegation is going to attend the 2022 Smart City Expo Summit & Expo which is being held under the theme ‘Digital Transformation Takes Smart Cities to New Heights!’.

The Taiwan Embassy said the Belizean delegation will participate in the four-day event which is being held in the cities of Taipei and Kaohsiung, the two major cities in Taiwan, along with other delegates from around the world.

“The Embassy wishes the delegation a fruitful and productive trip, which will also strengthen the bilateral relations between Belize and Taiwan,” said the Taiwan Embassy on social media.

Other members of the delegation are Jose Antonio Urbina, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Logistics, and E-Governance; Marconi Leal, Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Transport; Stephanne Hamilton, Councilor of Belize City Council; and Eluide Miller, Manager of Belize City Mayor’s Office and Executive Secretary of the Belize Mayors’ Association.
