Police continue to investigate Long Barracks Apartment fire

By Aaron Humes: Police report that damage from Saturday night’s fire at the Fabers Road Long Barracks Apartments was limited to the upper middle flat occupied by the family of Horace Lord, with minimal damages to the five other flats on the building – two upstairs, three downstairs.

According to police, the family was informed by their teenage son that smoke was coming from the ceiling in the bedroom around 8:15 in the evening. They were able to get out but lost all the contents as the fire could not be contained.

The fire was eventually extinguished by fire personnel under the command of Kenroy Roca. At this time the cause of the fire has not been determined, the apartment and contents are not insured and the total value of the loss is uncertain.
