By Benjamin Flowers: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton started out the final day of their Belize tour this morning with a trip to the Caracol archaeological site within the Chiquibul Forest Reserve.
Local and international media gathered for the tour following strict guidelines on proximity and photos as the royals were treated to a tour of the site courtesy of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH).
The tour ended with their ascent of the 141-foot-tall Caana temple (Sky temple), the largest structure at Caracol, which once housed royal families during the Maya empire.
Their tour continued with a visit to the British Army Training and Support Unit Belize (BATSUB) office within the reserve.
The tour ends this evening with a reception at Cahal Pech archaeological site in San Ignacio, Cayo.
