By Aaron Humes: A Belize City man is being accused of holding up a businessman on Freetown Road on Sunday night.
According to police, Paul Jones was inside his business when a dark-skinned man in dark clothing entered carrying a firearm and held him up, demanding money, around 9:30 in the evening.
Jones handed over a small sum from his pockets but the assailant tried to search Jones, hoping for more. They struggled and the attacker escaped toward Marine Parade, but quick-responding police caught up with him and he was positively identified.
Police have also recovered the weapon alleged to have been used in the incident. Their investigations continue to cement charges against the suspect.
