By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize City Deputy Mayor Allan Pollard has been selected to serve in the steering committee of the Commonwealth Youth for Sustainable Urbanization Network, according to the Belize City Council (BCC).

Pollard was selected for the role by the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF) and will be serving along with youth leaders from countries like Malaysia, Cameroon, Cyprus, India, Canada, the United States of America, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom

“The goal of this new network is to empower Commonwealth youth to support, contribute to, and advocate for sustainable urbanization in the Commonwealth and to look at ways in which cities and human settlements can better reflect the needs of youth,” said the Belize City Council.

“We extend our full support for Deputy Mayor Pollard as he represents Belize City in this capacity and look forward to continuing building on our amiable partnership with CLGF!” the BCC concluded.
