Belize Women’s National Football Team face off against the Chetumal Selection on Tuesday night

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Women’s National Football Team (BWNT) play a football friendly against the Chetumal Selection tonight Tuesday, March 22, un Chetumal.

The game is one of two the BWNT is playing against the Chetumal Selection at the Estadio 10 de Abril in Chetumal as they are continuing their preparations for the Women’s World Cup Qualifiers against Aruba and Barbados.

Tonight’s game kicks off at 9:00 pm (8:00 pm Belize) on Tuesday. The BWNT’s second game will be at the same time on Thursday, March 24.

Last week, the BWNT won one and lost the other in Izabal, Guatemala. On Tuesday, March 15, the BWNT lost 3-2 to Moralense at Estadio María Mena in Morales. Alisha Terry converted both of Belize’s goals.

The BWNT rebounded on Thursday, March 17, as they drubbed 3-0 FCF El Estor 3-0 at the Estadio Comunal in Buenos Aires, Izabal, on two goals by Jada Brown and one by Sabrina Eiley.

In the Concacaf Women’s World Cup Qualifiers next month. Belize host Aruba on Wednesday, April 6, in Belmopan, and then travel to the Dominican Republic to tackle Barbados on Tuesday, April 12.

The BWNT can no longer qualify to the next round of the World Cup Qualifiers after losing 0-6 to El Salvador and 0-8 to Panama, but the team is intent on finishing off with better performances.
