Duke and Duchess of Cambridge depart for Jamaica

By Aaron Humes: There was time for one last bit of pageantry to conclude the visit of Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Belize this morning.

The pair were brought by helicopter to the Philip Goldson International Airport in Ladyville, then driven by Range Rover to the red carpet for final greetings with the British High Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Governor-General Froyla Tzalam.

After one last Royal Salute from the Belize Defence Force band and Police detachment – and a wave back after boarding the plane – the official jet departed for Jamaica, one hour east of Belize.

The 10-day Caribbean tour continues there before heading to the Bahamas. We’ll have more of what they can expect on arrival in a subsequent story.
