Belize Weather: Run of fair weather continues, but change soon

Warm and mainly dry weather continues today according to the National Meteorological Service, but a change is forecast.

Skies will be mostly sunny today with isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the mountains, and partly cloudy tonight with only isolated showers.

High temperatures today peak at 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 95 degrees over inland areas and 81 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures range from 78 degrees along the coast to 70 degrees inland and 64 degrees in the hills.

Winds are southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots and sea state is moderate to rough with waves of four to seven feet. A small craft caution is in effect for large swells mostly beyond the Barrier Reef.

Tides are low as of 7:03 a.m. High tide occurs at 1:01 this afternoon and a low tide at 8:53 this evening. The sun sets at four minutes past six this evening and rises at six minutes to six on Thursday morning.

Thursday brings cloudy skies at times with a few showers or thunderstorms, mainly inland in the afternoon and evening then spreading to most areas during the night.
