By Aaron Humes: Current and former Prime Ministers met this week as John Briceño stopped in at the residence of his former boss, former Prime Minister of Belize, and former Party Leader Rt. Hon. Said Musa for his birthday.
Briceño, Musa’s former deputy before succeeding him for the first time in 2008, called it “always a most productive and enjoyable time to visit” and said they had been “chatting about the work of the government and the cost-of-living challenges facing us due to global constraints.”
Musa served two terms as Prime Minister and had been in Parliament consecutively since 1989 after being first elected in 1979. Health issues ultimately forced him to step aside just before the November 2020 general elections.
The Prime Minister said, “I am pleased to have his congratulatory words on our achievements and his reflections as we continue our road to economic recovery. Thank you Rt. Hon. Musa and it is such a pleasure to note your good health, vibrancy as well as your continued interest and support for our Administration and the Party.”
