Soldier charged for assaulting his common-law wife

By BBN Staff: Today, a Belize Defense Force soldier was charged with assaulting his common-law wife during a domestic dispute.

Thirty-year-old Tevin Cacho, appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, answering to a single charge of common assault.

In court, Cacho pleaded not guilty to the charge and since there was no objection to bail, the Magistrate granted him bail in the sum of $500 plus one surety of the same amount which he was able to meet.

Cacho’s next court date is set for May 23, 2022. The alleged incident occurred on March 11.
