Belize Men’s National Football Team play friendly against CSD Melchor today Thursday in Belmopan

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Men’s National Football Team (BMNT) is playing a friendly football match against a Club Social Deportivo Melchor from neighbouring Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala, at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan at 4:30 pm today Thursday.

Today’s friendly against CSD Melchor, a second division team in Guatemala, is a tune-up match prior to Sunday’s official international friendly against Cuba which will also be played at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.

The BMNT is taking advantage of the FIFA window of international games to play these preparation matches for the Concacaf Nations League which comes up from May 30 to June 14.

The BWNT have only played Cuba once. That encounter was Belize’s third game at the 2013 Concacaf Gold Cup. Cuba won the match 4-0 played on July 16, 2013, at Hartford, Connecticut, in the United States.
