By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Minister of Health and Wellness Kevin Bernard Minister of Health and Wellness has confirmed high-ranking medical appointments.
Dr. Melissa Diaz Musa is now the Director of Public Health and Wellness, Dr. Marvin Manzanero is the Director of International Cooperation, Dr. Jorge Polanco is the Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health, and Dr. Francis Morey is the Deputy Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health.
Minister Bernard said the appointments were approved by the MOHW panel.
Minister of Health and Wellness Kevin Bernard says the Public Services Commission approved the appointment of Dr. Diaz Musa as she applied for that post.
He said Dr. Manzanero’s appointment did not need to go to the Commission because he was previously employed as Director of Health Services. Since that position was removed, his new appointment is ‘like a lateral transfer’, while in the case of Dr. Morey ‘it’s just a name change’ from Deputy Director of Health Services to Deputy Director of Hospital Services and Allied Health
Dr. Polanco’s appointment, since he is ‘on contract’, is awaiting the approval of the Ministry of Finance.
