Interim UDP Party Leader Hugo Patt says UDP will emerge from convention unified

By Benjamin Flowers: Interim Leader of the United Democratic Party, Corozal North Area Representative Hugo Pattt has committed to working with whichever candidate emerges as the new leader following today’s convention.

Patt, who says he has never been secretive about his endorsement of Mesopotamia Area Representative Moses “Shyne” Barrow, said that it is ultimately the delegates who will decide and that their decision will be respected.

“At the end of the day the better candidate will emerge and whosoever that candidate is we will make sure that we stand next to that candidate to go on fighting for the next general election,” Patt said.

He also reiterated that he had no interest in offering himself up for the position, stressing that he only accepted the interim role to respond to the needs of his party.
