By Aaron Humes: The issue of outstanding taxes by various agencies, companies, and organizations has been part of national discourse for some time.
In an effort to further point out the gaps, the Belize Tax Service Department (BTSD) has published its list in newspapers this weekend.
A total of 25 businesses are featured according to LOVE FM News, with engineering firm M&M Engineering top at more than $2.7 million owed, followed by accounting firm HLB Belize with $2.4 million.
The Ministry of Finance is currently working on an Enforcement Collection Model for the Belize Tax Service Department with funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
