33-year-old man charged for unlawful sex with 13-year-old girl three times

By BBN Staff: A 33-year-old man from Corozalito village is behind bars tonight following accusations of having unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Jeffrey Pott appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.

Allegations against him are that between August 24, 2021, and February 20, 2022, he had unlawful sex with the minor on three separate occasions.

Due to the nature of the offense, Pott could not offer a plea, and bail could not be granted at the Magistrate Court level.

Pott was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until May 31.
