By BBN Staff: Members of the national hurricane response machinery are getting an early start in preparation for this year’s Atlantic Hurricane Season with a training session sponsored by USAID.
Emergency operations staff and shelter managers from the Belize City Council (CitCo) participated in the recently held Shelter Management Training session, through the City Emergency Management Organization (CEMO).
“Through this initiative, our members will be better equipped with the adequate knowledge and skills required to maintain shelter structure, prepare shelters for use and mobilize resources in the event of a natural disaster,” CitCo said.
The council also thanked the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) for their coordination efforts.
CitCo pledged to work constantly to ensure that Belize City is ready for the 2022 Hurricane Season ahead of time.
