Travel and Leisure names Copal Tree Lodge among 14 most beautiful hotels in the world

By Benjamin Flowers: United States-based Travel and Leisure Magazine has named a Belizean hotel as one of the 14 most beautiful hotels in the world.

In a recently published article titled “The 14 Most Beautiful Jungle Hotels Around the World” Travel and Leisure included Copal Tree Lodge, A Muy’Ono Resort, Toledo Creek District on the list.

Copal Tree Lodge was the ninth entry on the list, though the hotels were not listed in any particular order. The lodge was featured among other properties in well-known global tourism destinations, such as Gaia Amazon EcoLodge, Ecuador; Shinta Mani Wild — Bensley Collection, Cambodia; and Wilderness Safaris Bisate Lodge, Rwanda, which were the first three properties on the list respectively.

“These unique lodges and eco-resorts around the world offer complete seclusion and total immersion in their jungly, wildlife-filled paradise surroundings,” said writer Anne Olivia Bauso.

“Copal Tree is an upscale jungle lodge, yes, but it’s also a working certified-organic farm spanning 3,000 acres on the Belizean coast. The 16 suites and bungalows feature lofted ceilings with overhead fans, jungle-view floor-to-ceiling windows in the showers, and screened-in porches strung with hammocks,” Bauso added.

Belize was also listed just above Soneva Kiri in Thailand. The mention in such a large publication adds to a growing number of Belizean accommodations that are receiving international recognition and also supports Belize’s rising popularity as a must-visit destination on a global scale.
