By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Caribbean Junior Champion Derrick Chavarria is in the ten-man list the Cycling Federation of Belize is considering for the Caribbean Games to be held in Guadeloupe from June 29-July 3, 2022.
The CFB said three of the ten will be selected to represent the country at the regional games.
501 Valvoline Cycling Team’ Chavarria, who won the Caribbean Junior Cycling Championship last year in the Dominican Republic, is a strong candidate to be in the team of three, but there will be strong competition from the likes of G-Flow’s Shawn Codd, Tevin Chaplin, and Gian Lino, Westrac Alliance’s Eric Trapp, and his 501 Valvoline teammate Mairon Muñoz. But don’t leave out Team Cycology’s Kevin Gentle, G-Flow’s Jyven Gonzalez, unattached Sherwin Requena, and Westrac Alliance’s Fernando Rosado as all are young and upcoming cyclists with great potential.
