Woman pleads guilty to possession of crack cocaine

By BBN Staff: A Belize City woman pleaded guilty to drug possession charges when she was brought to the Belize Magistrate’s Court.

Kervisha Harris appeared unrepresented in court being charged with possession of a crack pipe, and possession of 0.12 grams of crack cocaine.

Harris, a mother of a two-year-old boy, pleaded guilty but asked the court to impose a fine, due to her child.

She was fined $250 for each offense and an additional $5 for each offense, making a sum total of $510.

Harris has until June 30 to pay her fine or she will spend two months in jail for each offense.

Harris was being sought by police on a separate allegation of theft when officers found her with the drugs and pipe in her possession.
