By Aaron Humes: After a one-day break, the Ministry of Health and Wellness reports that 24 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the last 48 hours, i.e., Tuesday and today, Wednesday, or 12 per day on average.
28 new recoveries were also reported, reducing the total of active cases to 258 with a further 144 samples under investigation.
Nine of the new cases were recorded in Belize City; four in San Pedro Town; two each in Hopkins, Stann Creek District and San Miguel, Toledo District; and single cases in Carmelita, Orange Walk District; Ladyville, Belize District; Belmopan and Roaring Creek, Cayo District; Maya Mopan, Stann Creek District; and San Antonio and San Pedro Columbia, Toledo District.
Overall, 57,277 total cases have been recorded of which 98.3 percent of patients have recovered.
