Belize mostly COVID-free at end of March; three new cases reported

By Aaron Humes: Just three new cases of COVID-19 were recorded countrywide today, Thursday, per information from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

They were recorded respectively in Belize City; Benque Viejo del Carmen Town, Cayo District; and Trial Farm, Orange Walk District.

With 27 more recoveries reported, Belize has 234 active cases of the virus with 115 samples under investigation.

No new deaths were reported; however, three persons are hospitalized, of which two are unvaccinated and one was fully vaccinated. None are in intensive care.

Overall, Belize has 57,280 total cases of which 98.4 percent or 56,345 have recovered. The number of deaths still stands overall at 654.
