Ministry of Health and Wellness invites Belizeans to apply for two-year medical physics scholarship in Europe

The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) is inviting Belizeans to apply for a two-year scholarship in Europe.

The Ministry said the scholarship is a great opportunity for qualified and suitable candidates.

“The scholarship is being provided to a qualified applicant to support the imaging services of the Ministry of Health and Wellness,” said the MOHW.

The scholarship is a two-year training programme for a Master of Advanced Studies in Medical Physics offered by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the University of Trieste in Italy.

“The programme is designed to provide young, promising graduates of physics or related fields (mainly from developing countries) with postgraduate theoretical and clinical training so that they may be recognised as clinical medical physicists in their home countries,” said ICTP.

The application deadline is April 30, 2022.

The programme will run from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2024. The winners of the scholarships will do the first year at the University of Trieste. The second year will be clinical training in a hospital of the training network.
