Motorcyclist dies after crashing into parked cane truck

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a traffic mishap that took the life of a Corozal man earlier this morning.

According to cane farmer and driver Victoriano Pott of San Jose, Orange Walk, he was on his way to deliver cane at the Tower Hill factory just after midnight when he felt one of his tires burst.

He parked near the side of the road and was preparing to change the tire when after about five minutes he felt an impact and found a man on the ground beside the truck and then a motorcycle lying under the truck.

The motorcyclist was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk Town but died on arrival. He has been identified as a resident of Sarteneja Village, Corozal District.

Police continue their investigations.
