By Aaron Humes: While extending condolences to fellow Assistant Superintendent of Police Nazario Tzib on the passing of his wife Lorelli over the weekend, Police are carefully reviewing the circumstances that led to it.
Tzib and his wife were driving on Saturday afternoon to the village of Selena, Cayo District, off the Spanish Lookout Road, when Tzib’s white Isuzu pickup truck overturned coming down the incline and went off the wooden bridge entering the village, which had no guard rails.
Lorelli Tzib died of her injuries on the spot after being trapped in the truck while Nazario Tzib remains hospitalized.
Police are investigating potential mechanical failure as a cause of the crash as all indications are that the officer knows the area well and drives it regularly. They have also taken samples as is standard for signs of alcohol or drug use. Their investigations continue.
