Breaking: Belize Defense Soldier Raheem Williams charged for murder

By BBN Staff: Police have officially charged Belize Defense Force soldier Raheem Williams, 27, for beating Estevan Baeza and causing his death.

Police issued the notice moments ago that Williams has been charged with a single count of murder.

Williams allegedly beat Baeza to death over a lighter on the night of April 1.

A video of the brutal beating that caused Baeza’s fatal injuries has since been circulating on social media.

In the wake of the brutal killing, the Ministry of National Defence and Border Security issued a statement saying that the matter would be investigated thoroughly and offered condolences to Baeza’s family.
