Belize Defence Force offers support to family of Estevan Baeza

By Benjamin Flowers: The Belize Defence Force (BDF) has come forward to offer its support to the family of Esteva Baeza, after he was brutally beaten to death by BDF Private Raheem Williams.

Today, Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Garcia, spoke to the media about the support the BDF is offering the family, noting that BDF Commander Brigadier General Azariel Loria, and his Force Sergeant Major visited the family residence on Tuesday, to affirm their support.

“They took some food for both the wake and the repass,” Garcia said. “The BDF has committed to pay for the funeral expenses, pay for the coffin and assist with the funeral arrangements.”

Garcia also said that the BDF is preparing to make a submission to the Security Services Commission to have Williams suspended. Depending on the outcome of Williams’s criminal case which is now before the courts, he faces dismissal from the BDF.
