By BBN Staff: A 42-year-old woman from Belize City is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after the court learned that she is wanted in two districts for the same crime.

Geraldine Castillo was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, charged with a single count of obtaining property by deception.

The allegation against her was that Castillo, using a Facebook profile under the name “Saint James Patrick ” received $270 from a woman as payment and was to deliver a Whirlpoolbrand washer but did not do so. The woman told police she made several attempts to reach Castillo but was unable to do so.

In court, Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford learned that the Belmopan Police Crimes Investigation Branch (CIB) has a warrant out for Castillo’s arrest for obtaining property by deception.

Castillo was denied bail and remanded to prison until June 6.
