Belize Tourism Board sponsors 2022 Annual Cross Country Cycling Classic

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize Tourism Board is one of the sponsors of the 92nd Edition of the Annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic to be held on Holy Saturday, April 16, 2022.

“The Cross Country is the longest-running sporting spectacle in the region. We are proud to be one of the sponsors of this historic national one-day event,” said Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations Anthony Mahler as he presented a cheque for $5,000 to Dion Leslie, Vice President of the Cycling Federation of Belize (CFB).

The donation should assist the CFB with expenses related to the classic, said the BTB.

“As the body responsible for promoting and marketing Belize, the BTB is also committed to the development of such important events as the cycling classic, which attracts numerous international visitors to Belize,” said the BTB.

The CFB has been looking for sponsors for its event. Recently the CFB held the Men’s Junior Cross Country Cycling Race won by G-Flow’s Renan Codd and this coming Sunday, April 10, will hold the Women’s Cross Country Cycling Classic as well.

So far, the CFB has received a Platinum sponsorship from DigiWallett and Silver sponsorships from BEL, the Office of the Prime Minister, Belize Bank’s Ekyash, M&M Engineering, Jex R. Trophies, Atlantic Bank, and Bronze sponsors Belize City Council, Leslie’s Imports, and Renco Heavy Duty Battery, among others.
