Hot and dry weather is forecasted today by the National Meteorological Service.
Skies today will be sunny and tonight partly cloudy, with potential rainfall limited to an isolated thunderstorm developing over the mountains this afternoon.
High temperatures will reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 97 degrees over inland areas and 84 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 78 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 67 degrees in the hills. A heat advisory is in effect and residents, especially in inland areas, should avoid extensive outdoor activity and stay hydrated.
Winds are from the east to northeast at 10 to 20 knots and sea state is choppy to moderate, with waves of three to six feet.
Tides will be high at 1:17 this afternoon, then low at 9:31 this evening.
Sunset occurs at 6:07 this evening and sunrise on Friday is at 5:41.
On Friday expect cloudy skies at times with isolated showers and thunderstorms, first over southern and inland and offshore areas in the afternoon, moving to northern and coastal areas later in the night.
