Robbers take cash and cellphone from delivery man in Belize City

By BBN Staff: A delivery man making delivery on Berry Street, Belize City was robbed at gunpoint yesterday.

The delivery man told police that he was in the company vehicle while his coworker was inside a yard making the delivery when two men approached him and one of them pulled a gun on him.

The other man took his wallet, which contained $40, and his cellphone. They also searched the cab of the truck and took $530 in cash.

The robbers then ran off in separate directions and escaped. The robbery was one of two that happened that morning, with the second occurring on Jane Usher Boulevard.

Police are investigating.
