Altitude play Wagiya in last home match on Saturday at Independence

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A lot is hanging in the balance as Altitude host Wagiya in the last home game on Saturday night at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence in the Battle of The South.

Altitude are hot in the fight with the San Pedro Pirates to retain their subchampionship in the FFB Top League Closing Championship, while Wagiya are trying to catch up with Garden City. So, expect fireworks when both southern teams clash at 7:30 this evening.

Altitude are riding a game-high after ripping the Pirates 4-2 last week while Wagiya are hurting after letting Garden City get away with a 1-0 win.

Altitude and San Pedro both have 14 points, but for now Altitude are still second. While they know that being subchampions again is their responsibility, they are counting on Champions Verdes taking care of business against San Pedro in Benque Viejo del Carmen on Saturday as well.

The only chance Wagiya have of closing the gap on Garden City is to beat Altitude and hope Caesar Ridge drop Garden City at the FFB Stadium on Sunday.
