BREAKING: Police hold two well-known individuals in connection with Saturday evening shooting in Belize city

By Aaron Humes: Police tonight say they have arrested two men and recovered a weapon suspected to have been used in a shooting this evening.

According to police, a Special Patrol Unit Operations team was on mobile patrol on Jones Street near McKay Boulevard when shots were heard.

The team responded and captured two men seen running out of a yard in the area. Nearby they found a nine-millimeter pistol suspected to have been used in a prior shooting.

Investigations continue.
