Mark Lord,39, shot dead on Jones Street, Belize City

By BBN Staff: A man was shot dead in Belize City last night.

Reports are that 39-year-old Mark Lord was walking on Jones Street around 6:35 p.m. headed in the direction of Lawrence Avenue when someone approached him and fired several shots, killing him on the spot.

Quick police response led to the apprehension of two men found fleeing the scene moments after the shots were heard.

Police also recovered a .9mm pistol believed to be the murder weapon.
