By BBN Staff: Today, a 45-year-old man from Belize City is out on bail after being arraigned in court today for possession of a crack pipe that allegedly was not his.
Reagan Gomez appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he immediately attempted to plead guilty but with an explanation.
He told the court that his brother had borrowed his pants and left the pipe in there. He stressed that he is not a drug addict but is willing to assume ownership of the pipe.
The Court explained that he could not enter a guilty plea without accepting the charge as read to him and entered an equivocal plea of not guilty on his behalf.
Bail was granted in the sum of $600 plus one surety of the same, which he met. He is due back in court on May 25.
