Family of murdered football star John King seeks help with funeral expenses

By Benjamin Flowers: The family of semi-pro football star John King, who was murdered in Belize City over the weekend, is seeking financial assistance to cover his funeral expenses.

A GoFundMe page has been set up and his family is asking that those so inclined to help them give King a fitting send-off.

King was shot on Saturday night while at a friend’s house on Victoria Street.

His death sent shock waves throughout the football and sporting community in Belize and caused an outpour of condolences and people expressing their grief at his loss on social media.

Police have launched an investigation into his murder.
