Belize Women’s National Football Team play Barbados in El Salvador on Tuesday afternoon

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Women’s National Football Team (BWNT) play Barbados at 3:30 pm at the Cuscatlán Stadium in San Salvador, El Salvador in their final Group D Women’s World Cup qualifier.

Barbados are looking for their second win while Belize are aiming to get their first victory. So far, Panama and El Salvador have nine points each atop Group D. Barbados have three, while Belize and Aruba have one each.

The BWNT and the Barbados side did their final training at the Cuscatlán Stadium on Monday. Both have played at the Cuscatlán already. Barbados lost 2-0 to El Salvador there last Friday. The BWNT played against El Salvador and Panama at the Cuscatlán Stadium in February.

While Belize and Barbados are playing to finish with World Cup qualifiers with a good performance, Panama are hosting El Salvador to decide who will top the group and advance to the next round of the qualifiers. The Panama-El Salvador game kicks off at 5:00 pm at the Rommel Fernández Stadium in Panama City.

The BWNT travelled to San Salvador by road last Thursday right after their 1-1 draw with Aruba on Wednesday in Belmopan. The match against Barbados was set to be played at Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, but was later switched to El Salvador.
