COVID update: Uptick in new cases recorded

By Aaron Humes: The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported more new cases, seventeen, today than recoveries from COVID-19 (seven).

The number of active cases thus goes back up to 136 with 49 samples under investigation.

No new deaths were recorded and the number of hospitalizations stands at three – one unvaccinated, one partially vaccinated and one fully vaccinated, of which the latter two are in intensive care.

The majority of today’s new cases were recorded in Belize City (seven), Ladyville, Belize District (three) and Punta Gorda Town (two); the others were in Chunox, Corozal District; San Pedro Town; Burrell Boom and Maskall, Belize District; and Placencia, Stann Creek District.
