By BBN Staff: A Belize City man was fined in court after he beat up his wife while in front of the Michael Finnegan Market.
Reagan Gomez, 45, was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court and charged with a single count of harm.
He was accused of punching his wife in the face, in front of their teenage son, while out at the market on Sunday, April 10.
Gomez wasted no time in pleading guilty and was fined $1,500 plus $5 cost of court.
Notably, Gomez was before the court on Monday on a charge of possession of a crack pipe. In that court appearance, he explained that his brother had borrowed his pants and left the pipe in there. That matter is scheduled to go back to court on May 25.
