Families of motorcycle accident victims seek funds for treatment

By Aaron Humes: One of the victims of Sunday night’s traffic accident on the Cristo Rey/San Antonio Road, Cayo District, has been identified by family members as 30-year-old Daniel Moralez.

Moralez, accompanied by a female passenger known to us only as Khalilah, lost control of his motorcycle while driving toward Santa Elena Town on a dangerous curve in the road just before a bridge.

His family is now seeking assistance of 30 thousand dollars to pay for medical treatment.

Daniel, according to family members, is presently at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) in critical condition. He sustained severe injuries, including extremely broken bones all over the body, broken limbs, damaged right eye, broken jaw, and is currently in an induced coma. Based on evaluations to date, the doctors stated that he will be needing blood transfusions and several surgeries.

Khalilah is also in critical condition with multiple bone fractures down her right side and is losing blood, according to a family member in touch with Moralez’s family.
