Concacaf votes Belize’s Jasmin Armstrong as best goalkeeper of Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, includes her in Best XI

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Concacaf voted Belize’s Jasmin Armstrong as the best goalkeeper of Women’s World Cup Qualifiers including her in the Best XI above the goalkeepers from the entire region including Mexico and the United States.

“The Belize back-stop started all four matches for her team and recorded a W Qualifying-leading 28 saves,” wrote Concacaf.

“She finished qualifying with a clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Barbados.”

The accolade comes despite Belize not qualifying to the next round of the qualifiers. That speaks volumes of Armstrong’s performance.

“The February and April windows of 2022 Concacaf W Championship Qualifying produced a number of top performances, but these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions,” said Concacaf.

The other ten players selected to the Best XI are defenders Bernal (Mexico), Mariana Benavides (Costa Rica), Yerenis De Leon (Panama), Sydney Cummings (Guyana); midfielders Khadija Shaw (Jamaica), Stephany Mayor (Mexico), Raquel Rodriguez (Costa Rica); and forwards Roselord Borgella (Haiti), Yessenia Flores (Nicaragua), and Katty Martinez (Mexico).
