San Ignacio-Santa Elena Low Lying Bridge to be closed on Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday to facilitate Easter Fair

The San Ignacio-Santa Elena Low Lying Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday to facilitate the San Ignacio-Santa Elena Town Council (SISE) Easter Fair.

“We’re closing the Low-Lying Bridge from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm for safety,” said Mayor Earl Trapp.

“The Fairgrounds will be on both sides of the Low-Lying Bridge, so to make it safer for pedestrians, the streets on either side of the bridge will become a part of the fairgrounds, so automatically we will have to close the area on top of the hill by Pandy’s or St Ignatius to the other side by the San Ignacio Market.”

Mayor Trapp said this year the SISE Easter Fair will be held during the day from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. But, unlike the traditional fair at Macal Park, this year’s Easter Fair will be a family fair on both sides of the Macal River.
