By Aaron Humes: The Belize City Liquor Licensing Board has reminded proprietors that they are to be closed for sale of Liquor under Section 27 of the Intoxicating Liquor Licensing Act and Section 5 of the accompanying regulations.
Today, Good Friday, there will be no sale, consumption of, exposure for sale, or delivery to establishments that have a general, malt Liquor and cider and shop and beer licenses.
Stores, establishments and other operations with publican’s general licenses must also be closed today and for Easter Sunday and between 1 and 3 p.m. and overnight from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following day.
Licensees for malt Liquor and cider may be open after Good Friday and those with beer and shop licenses should be closed on Easter Monday but open on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday.
Additionally, during the period of closure, per section 3(1), no person other than the license holder or his direct employees are allowed on the licensed premises.
