By Rubén Morales Iglesias: At 10:26 by Mile 32, the front four men were still ahead of seven riders in the 2022 Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic by six minutes and 49 seconds (6:49).
Belizeans FAL’s Marlon Castillo and Westrac Alliance’s Byron Pope were pedaling consistently along with Anguillan Hasani Hennis and American John DeLong have been alone at the front since dropping G-Flow’s Shaun Codd before Blackman Eddy.
The seven in the chase were still G-Flow’s Giovanni Lovell, Road Rage’s Richard Santiago, 501 Valvoline’s Oscar Chavarria, and Joslyn Chavarria, Barbadian Joshua Kelly, Guatemalan Julio Padilla, and unattached Nashen Ysaguirre.
Both riders who made the first break, G-Flow’s Shaun Codd and Westrac Alliance’s Eric Trapp, were left behind.
