Woman’s former partner in Placencia “couldn’t let go,” police say

By Aaron Humes: A 38-year-old woman was wounded by her former partner during an argument in Placencia early on Easter Sunday morning.

As ASP Fitzroy Yearwood of the Police Department said today, “The word ex-common-law explains a lot. It is obvious that for some reason they didn’t work out and an act like this would suggest that he couldn’t let go.”

According to police, the accuser was arguing with former partner Christon Rocha, a Honduran national of Dangriga Town. Rocha left and three minutes later returned, armed with a knife.

He proceeded to stab his ex several times in the face, before being initially restrained by passersby. However, he subsequently escaped and remains on the run. The accuser was treated at the Placencia Polyclinic.
