Businessman Michael Clark shot dead in front of his family at Roaring Creek home

By Aaron Humes: Death visited a family coming home on Wednesday night in Roaring Creek, Cayo District.

According to police 58-year-old Michael Clark, a dual national of Belize and Great Britain, had arrived home just before eight in his red Mitsubishi Outlander SUV with his common-law wife and the three sons they share.

She told police she had gotten out of the front passenger seat to open the sliding entrance gate as Clark drove into the yard with the boys in the back seat and parked next to the house when a man suddenly appeared in dark clothing and a fisherman’s hat.

He ran past the common-law toward the vehicle and opened fire, shooting Michael Clark three times in the left temple and below and behind the left ear as he sat in the driver’s seat before escaping.

Clark’s belongings including his cell phone and fanny pack containing cash and documents were not disturbed and no one else was injured.

Police continue their investigations.
