Police booth burned in Dangriga

By Aaron Humes: Arson has allegedly hit the Belize Police Department as one of its police booths in the southern town of Dangriga was apparently deliberately burned early on Wednesday morning.

When there was a spike in crime in Dangriga at the start of this year – where a minor was killed – a booth was installed in the Back-A-Town area of the southern town.

While police have not responded to a request for comment, we understand that the booth may not have been manned around the clock, and someone took the opportunity to set it ablaze.

Investigations continue.
