By BBN Staff: A 40-year-old man from Biscayne Village is behind bars after breaching a restraining order and breaking into a woman’s house.

Lindon Requena appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, charged with a single count of burglary with the intent to rape.

The victim told police that she had already been granted a protection order against Requena on March 27, but on April 7, while sitting inside her home, Requena walked in with a machete and started making sexual advances toward her.

She said that when she refused, he tried to force himself on her, but she struggled, after which he left.

He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until June 17, where he will also make an appearance in the Belize City Family Court with respect to his breach of the restraining order.
