Posted: Friday, April 22, 2022. 12:52 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: A woman of Burrell Boom, Belize District, has been charged with arson by police following a destructive fire in Copper Bank, Corozal District.

According to the homeowner, he accompanied the woman and her minor daughter to a restaurant in Sarteneja Village. He alleges that she began to behave disorderly and so they had to leave the restaurant.

They drove back to his house but the accused got out of the vehicle before they arrived and went ahead. The homeowner says he heard the sounds of her breaking things inside the concrete and stone residence and shortly thereafter saw flames coming from the residence and the woman crawling out.

The entire structure and its contents along with a 22-foot aluminum boat and trailer were destroyed, to a total value of 100 thousand dollars.
