Belize play Nicaragua on opening day of the U19 Central American Football Championship on Sunday

Belize play Nicaragua on opening day of the Under 19 FIFA F0RWARD Central American Football Championship on Sunday in capital city Belmopan.

The Football Federation of Belize is hosting the one-week UNCAF Central American Championship from Monday, April 24, to Saturday, April 30.

The eight participating countries, including Puerto Rico as invited guests, have been split into two groups. Group A comprising Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua are playing at the FFB Stadium while Group B consisting of Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico are playing at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium.

On Sunday, Honduras open the regional championship at the FFB Stadium against El Salvador at 4:15 pm. In the main match of the day, Belize will host Nicaragua at 7:00 pm.

Over at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium, Panama will play the opener against Costa Rica at 4:15 pm. Guatemala play the second match of the opening day against Puerto Rico.

On Tuesday, April 26, at the FFB Stadium Nicaragua face Honduras in the first game while Belize close against El Salvador. Group B will feature Puerto Rico versus Panama and Costa Rica against Guatemala.

On Thursday, April 28, the FFB Stadium will have El Salvador-Nicaragua in the opener and Belize against Honduras in the last game of the round robin first round. At the Isidoro Beaton, Costa Rica open against Puerto Rico followed by Guatemala against Panama.

All games play at 4:15 pm and 7:00 pm.

The tournament will be played in a round robin format. The group winners play for the championship on Saturday, April 30, at 7:00 pm at the FFB Stadium. In the opener at 4:15 pm, the two second place teams play for third place.

The Isidoro Beaton will host the seventh-place game between the two last place teams at 4:15 pm and the fifth-place match between the two third place teams at 7:00 pm.
