Moist and unstable conditions will persist over Belize today according to the National Meteorological Service.
The forecast is for cloudy skies with sunny breaks today and partly cloudy to cloudy skies tonight. Some showers or thunderstorms will continue around the country, but mostly over central and northern areas this morning before a gradual decrease starting this afternoon. Then tonight, showers will be isolated.
High temperatures today are 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 90 degrees in inland areas and 76 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 76 degrees along the coast; 72 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.
Winds are easterly to northeasterly at five to 15 knots; sea state is choppy to rough with waves of three to seven feet. Operators of small crafts are advised to exercise caution for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. A flood warning remains in effect for low lying and flood-prone areas in the Stann Creek district.
Tides will be low at 8:48 this morning and a quarter past eleven tonight and high at 3:15 this afternoon. Sunset takes place at 11 minutes past six this evening and the sun is up on Sunday at half-past five in the morning.
For Sunday and Sunday night, expect generally fair weather to prevail, with only isolated showers developing.
